Why a lay-by with us is safe

A stone is paid for before it is seen at the grave. This is what you have along the way.
  • You see it before you pay

The stone, its granite and every word on it, exactly as it will be made, with its price.

  • No interest

A plan comes to the stone's price. Where it does not share out evenly, the last payment is a little less.

  • You check every word

Nothing is carved until you have checked the wording, and we have checked your cemetery's rules.

  • You see it in place

It is installed before the unveiling, and we send you dated photographs of it at the grave.

How a plan fits the day

A year or more away

Pay over 3, 6, 9 or 12 months, or at once.

Less than a year away

The longest plan is the number of whole months left. Eight months away, up to 8.

Less than two months away

There is no time for a plan, so it is paid at once.

Less than four weeks away

Short notice: 25% is added to the stone, and it is paid at once.

Less than two weeks away

Too soon to make the stone. The soonest an unveiling can be is two weeks away.

Delivery is added at the checkout by how far the cemetery is, from R800, and is shared out with the rest of the plan.

Questions people ask

What is a tombstone lay-by?

Paying for a tombstone in parts, over months, before it is handed over: here, set at the grave. It is also written layby or lay-bye. Ours run over up to 12 months with no interest, and end before the unveiling.

Is there interest on a lay-by?

No. A plan comes to the stone's price exactly. Where it does not share out evenly, the last payment is a little less.

How much is a tombstone per month?

From R325 a month over 12 months for our lowest-priced stone. Choose a stone and the day of the unveiling above to see yours.

When is the stone made?

Your first payment reserves the design. Carving starts halfway through the plan, after you have checked every word, and the stone is installed before the unveiling.

Can I pay over 12 months if the unveiling is sooner?

No. A stone is paid off before it is unveiled, so the longest plan is the number of whole months left. With less than two months to go, it is paid at once.

  • Choose the stone

See it with their name on it, in any shape and granite, and order it on the plan that suits you.

  • Compare every price

Every stone with its price, what decides it, and what your budget buys.
